Workshop on:

The Free Energy Principle
(Presented by the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging)

July 5 (Thursday) - 6 (Friday) 2012

The workshop will present the mathematical and biological constructs of the Free Energy Principle.  The first day will include an introduction to the principle, a treatment of Bayesian inference in dynamical systems and the neurobiology that could support the principle. On the second day we will focus on particular domains of neuroscience and how the principle applies, for example to motor function and attention. We will also examine how the framework can be used to understand psychopathology.
For background reading we suggest the following “rough guide”: (http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.tics.2009.04.005)
