"If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?"
(attributed to) Albert Einstein
Welcome to the home page of the Awareness group at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging and Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience! We're a group of clinicians and scientists who study the neural basis of human consciousness in health and disease. We try to do cool and interesting experiments and publish them in nice journals, but succes
sful cognitive neuroscience needs creativity and so we try to also enjoy ourselves and have a good work/life balance.
Geraint Rees is the group leader, and group members come from both medical and scientific backgrounds. We're lucky to be based in Queen Square in the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience and Wellcome Tr
ust Centre for Neuroimaging, which together represent one of the largest groupings of cognitive neuroscientists in Europe if not the world. As well as doing science, group members contribute to teaching and training other researchers and doctors at Queen
Square and University College London, and providing patient care at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery and elsewhere. |
